Currently I am engaged in an 8 month project constructing a hardware/ software solution to facilitate small group learning in the K-4th grade classroom. Our project team completed our user research and synthesis last month, we are now developing prototypes and testing these in various schools across Pittsburgh.
ZipGig
ZipGig is an agile solution for whenever small business owners find themselves in a bind and need extra help. You can throw a bunch of people on a problem and get it solved immediately. The application sends out task-requests to any ready workers within your proximate area so as to allow for speedy response times.
Make It Together
Make It Together is about facilitating collaborations between buyers and craftsmen to create collaborative works of art or customized construction. We found that remote project discussions could be difficult and inaccurate because of the ambiguity of online communication. Through the use of a video chat and an editable display board, this tool allows for high specificity when in discussion about object details.
UX Design
My belief in the methodologies of human-centered design revolves around the needs that exist between the user's intentions and their tools. Paying close attention to the user's behavior provides a framed constraint to apply my skills within. I was drawn towards this field because it stresses collaboration and iteration, refining the prototype within the given context of the problem space.
Having come from an art and design background makes me especially open-minded, I am always looking forward to new projects that transform the way I work and perceive.
